The daylight sun unfold my eyes
to a bouquet of reminiscence in flames.
A sight so hurting and blazing
but too applauding to gaze away.
By way of my ear whirled a familiar
yet startling melody of the breeze.
It whined desire and might have been.
This song always beguiled me when
it was born from deceptive carmine rims
and a peck so close but far-flung.
What beautiful music there was that moment.
quite a funeral march to the beauty of a flame.
It was my core that became a moth gaunt
to those flaming eyes sheltered in blue.
That day recalled to me how it always was
to be with you.
